Donald Mitchell kicked off his first of a series of focus groups with the citizens of Alpharetta to get firsthand input on their issues, ideas, thoughts and priorities for the community. This one hour event provided Donald the opportunity not to give a speach, but listen to what is on the minds of his fellow citizens.
At the top of everyone’s list was Making the Alpharetta City Center a better place to visit, shop, eat and enjoy….and get the same kind of “draw” that neighboring Roswell has today. Additional priorities centered around traffic flow, neighborhood safety through PACT, the rerouting of Highway 9, developing more and better park and recreation facilities, Sunday alcohol sales, property taxes, minimizing the widening of roads, better enforcement of drunk driving and enforcing the solicitation laws in our subdivisions.
Donald will continue to conduct these focus groups throughout the campaign season not only to get feedback from his fellow citizens, but also to demonstrate that unlike most politicians, he’s a good listener. And he also wants to know firsthand what everyone’s top priorities are so once he is elected he can begin the process of addressing these priorities.
