Donald Mitchell Bringing Flowering Containers to Alpharetta

Here Donald is shown receiving the 1st shipment of containers for Alpharetta. The flowering container program is a project very special to Donald. Larry Attig, Dick Debban, Donald and others have been working to improve the curb appeal of Downtown. With in two weeks the public should be able to see the fall flowers along Canton and Roswell streets and Milton Ave. Later they will also be placed along Main Street. Thanks to the Downtown Alpharetta Trade Association, our Mayor and City Council voted unanimously to increase the curb appeal of Alpharetta we will all enjoy these for years to come. These planters will be replanted 3 times a year and maintained throughout the year. Creating curb appeal is just one of many ways to bring more business to Alpharetta.

Donald Mitchell Campaign Volunteers

A true testament of supporting a candidate running for the Alpharetta City Council is volunteer participation. Last night Donald Mitchell hosted a large group of volunteers at the 52 Bistro Restaurant who have “signed up” to help him win. These individuals will be walking subdivisions to get the word out about why Donald is running for city council, what he stands for, and why they should vote for him. They’ll also be putting up signs and making calls to friends and neighbors to get the word out.

If you want to volunteer and help support Donald’s campaign, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Peggy Jones, at volunteers@donaldmitchell.org.

Meet and Greet in Glen Abbey

Donald Mitchell was pleased to meet all of the nice people that live in the area on Tuesday night. They discussed the importance of continuing to have persons of integrity & honesty in public office. Donald is open and available to meet with any and all groups. Please email volunteers@donaldmitchell.org if you’d like to schedule a meeting.

Donald Mitchell Warmly Received at WARM Meeting

Donald Mitchell was warmly received at the Windward Association of Retired Men. Donald believes that the concerns and our citizens should be upheld and implemented. He was asked some hard hitting questions concerning property rights and protection of property values. As a fiscal conservative and big believer in property rights, Donald’s comments were widely received and welcomed. Donald also believes that with his push for Economic Development for Alpharetta our corporate campuses and their current zoning should be maintained as they are. Corporations bear most of the tax burden for Alpharetta’s neighborhoods. It is extremely important to fill vacant office buildings with job producing corporations.

Kimball Bridge Coalition Candidate Forum

The Kimball Bridge Coalition had an excellent candidate forum on Sunday Night. We were able to hear from the majority of the mayoral and city council candidates. It was both exciting and nerve racking as we sought to expound on all of our ideas. I enjoyed meeting so many folks from Kimball Bridge and Windward. This forum has become an excellent opportunity for the general public to make decisions for the future of Alpharetta. As I was speaking, I realized just how lucky I am to have this opportunity to serve Alpharetta. It is a great place to live!

Donald Mitchell Supports The Alpharetta Fire and Police Departments!

Public safety is a priority for Donald Mitchell. It’s also a top priority for the citizens of Alpharetta to know that they are protected by well trained fire and police departments.

Donald grew up as a Navy kid and his family has always served in the armed forces. Public safety is a top priority for him and the general public he serves.

Focus Group Uncovers Citizen’s Priorities for Donald Mitchell

Donald Mitchell kicked off his first of a series of focus groups with the citizens of Alpharetta to get firsthand input on their issues, ideas, thoughts and priorities for the community. This one hour event provided Donald the opportunity not to give a speach, but listen to what is on the minds of his fellow citizens.

At the top of everyone’s list was Making the Alpharetta City Center a better place to visit, shop, eat and enjoy….and get the same kind of “draw” that neighboring Roswell has today.  Additional priorities centered around traffic flow, neighborhood safety through PACT, the rerouting of Highway 9, developing more and better park and recreation facilities, Sunday alcohol sales, property taxes, minimizing the widening of roads, better enforcement of drunk driving and enforcing the solicitation laws in our subdivisions.

Donald will continue to conduct these focus groups throughout the campaign season not only to get feedback from his fellow citizens, but also to demonstrate that unlike most politicians, he’s a good listener. And he also wants to know firsthand what everyone’s top priorities are so once he is elected he can begin the process of addressing these priorities.

Main Street Mitchell

Donald Mitchell needs a new name. We need to replace Donald with  Main Street Mitchell. He has worked tirelessly on the issues that affect every small business in Alpharetta. He started the Alpharetta First Campaign that connects all Alpharetta Businesses and encourages each citizen to buy locally. Most recently Donald Mitchell, Larry Attig and Dick Debbin have been working with the city on a grant to place flowering planters through out the historic downtown area. This will increase the overall curb appeal for downtown and hopefully encourage visitors and businesses to locate in the area.

Downtown Donald / Main Street Mitchell has been an asset to making downtown more vibrant and alive. His work on events such as Needle in a hey stack, The Alpharetta Farmers Market and countless other activities have seen Main Street Mitchell’s handiwork. Through hard work and a relentless spirit of cooperation Donald is working to transform the way we all see Downtown. A vote for Main Street Mitchell would be a huge leap in the right direction for Alpharetta’s Future.
